Usually twins have a shorter gestational age (GA). Though the increased perinatal, neonatal and infant mortality risks among twins are well-known, the differences in mortality between twins and singletons by gestational age are not. A comparison of mortality by GA can help to understand the pathway of growth and development of twins.
