The Bibliotheca Alexandrina can arrange for a car and driver (limousine service) to meet travelers at the airport in either Alexandria or Cairo and take them to and from the hotel in Alexandria and back to the airport (or other location) at the end of the workshop. To obtain this assistance, you must notify Carolyn Loether (cloether@mail.sis.pitt.edu) of your request and provide flight information BY DECEMBER 22. She will coordinate these arrangements with the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

Alexandria Airport to the hotel is about 9 miles away from the workshop hotel. The cost estimate is about $20.

Cairo Airport to the hotel is about 114 miles away from the workshop hotel. The cost estimate is about $50.

Please note that you CANNOT use a credit card to pay the driver. You must use Egyptian currency. You will need to meet the driver at Baggage Claims. Your driver will have a sign with your name on it.
