One of the things they tried in the 1980’s, they did some cognitive training on spatial orientation and inductive reasoning tasks. They did a five hour individual training over a few weeks time and they did find some improvement on both domains and less than average decline in inductive reasoning at a seven year follow-up. The actual raw data weren’t in there to look and see how much of a real not decline that was. But again, they’re not saying people improve, they’re saying their rate of decline because of people who did not participate in training was less than for those who had participated.
