ACTIVE is the Advanced Cognitive Training for Independent and Vital Elderly. It is a really exciting study and all I have is the description of the study. I don’t think they have published their results yet. I can’t find them and I’m thinking we probably right on the cusp here because they should be out soon. But it is still an interesting study to look at in this topic. It began enrollment in 1998. It is a multi-center study. They’ve got almost 3000 participants all over the age of 65. The participates are coming in with no evidence of any functional decline, cognitive impairment, or physical problems and they gave people 10 training sessions and then they added this four booster sessions later, about 11 months to one year after that first training session.
